Sherwood Recreation Center Exterior Improvements
SPD Contracting, Inc. is leading the Design-Build Services for Sherwood Recreation Center Exterior Improvements, focusing on enhancing accessibility, safety, and site functionality in alignment with DPR and DGS standards. The project includes replacing the existing garden bridge with an upgraded structure that incorporates handrails for added security, resurfacing and repairing the asphalt track, and modifying ornamental fencing at the temporary construction entrance, either through salvaging and reinstalling or replacing in kind. Additionally, the scope includes installing a new outdoor water fountain with freeze-resistant components, ensuring long-term durability and functionality.
The tennis courts will receive a multi-layer resurfacing system, meeting DPR standards, and elevation adjustments will be made at transition points to eliminate trip hazards. SPD is committed to delivering a high-quality project with minimal community disruption, employing efficient phasing, durable materials, and strong stakeholder collaboration to ensure successful execution.
