Boone ES Emergency Repairs
SPD Contracting, Inc. provided emergency restoration services at Boone Elementary School following water damage caused by a leak, ensuring full remediation of affected classrooms and staff areas. Our team mobilized immediately, assessing the extent of the damage and implementing strategic remediation efforts to prevent mold growth and restore functionality. The scope of work included drywall removal and replacement, acoustical ceiling repairs, and restoration of gypsum wall assemblies and bulkheads to match DCPS standards. SPD also replaced damaged vinyl tile flooring and installed new black 5” cove base, along with addressing pipe insulation and duct wrap replacements above ceilings.
Extensive site protection measures were implemented, including containment barriers, adhesive cleaning mats, and PPE enforcement, to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations in the occupied facility. The project was successfully completed within the summer break window, allowing Boone Elementary to resume operations without delay while maintaining strict compliance with DCPS safety and facility standards.
